Below are advocacy resources and local advocacy support providers to help individuals with disabilities self advocate.

The Disability Rights Center of Kansas (DRC) is a private non-profit agency. They are not a part of the state or federal government. They are also not a disability service provider. DRC has attorneys and advocates who provide free advocacy and legal services for disability rights.
Advocacy in Motion seeks to transform lives and cultivate independence through education, advocacy and employment training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.
The Kansas Navigator Series was developed to help you learn more about yourself, your goals, and how to advocate for what is important to you. The Kansas Navigator Series focuses on improving postschool outcomes through supported decision-making, self-determination, dignity of risk, and a strong circle of support
The Self Advocate Coalition of Kansas (SACK) is a statewide advocacy group made up of adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, the majority of whom receive services through the Kansas Developmental Disabilities Service System. SACK encourages and teaches people to speak up for themselves and to obtain the highest possible level of independence.
Families Together is here to help, whether you are just starting out or experiencing a challenge along the way. We provide assistance with early intervention, education, health care, transitions, and community resources to support the academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and mental well being of children, youth, and families.
Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns provides policy guidance to the government of Kansas and disability-related information to the people of Kansas.
The Council’s mission is to empower individuals with I/DD and their families to lead systems change, build capacity, and advocate for inclusive, integrated, accessible communities where everyone belongs and thrives. KCDD serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through advocacy, public policy, and education.
The I’m Determined project, a state-directed project funded by the Virginia Department of Education, focuses on providing direct instruction, models, and opportunities to practice skills associated with self-determined behavior. This project facilitates youth, especially those with disabilities to undertake a measure of control in their lives, helping to set and steer the course rather than remaining the silent passenger.

Autism Society-The Heartland (ASH) is the state affiliate of Autism Society of America for Kansas and Missouri. At ASH we are focusing on the whole person and the family. We are creating opportunities for training, self-advocacy, and support.
Down Syndrome Innovations is your trusted source for life-changing services for people with Down syndrome, their families, and communities. Our expert resources, comprehensive support, and partnership with families empower and enable individuals with Down syndrome to live to their fullest potential.
Meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Zoom.
Open to all people with disabilities and anyone in the community who wants to participate in civic activities at the city, state, and federal levels of government impacting people with disabilities in Kansas and Missouri. All are invited!
